What is beautiful to you?

It was a simple moment really. I was reviewing some images I’d taken with friend and fellow photographer Rebekah when we came across an image that had some really nice elements in it, but wasn’t quite there yet.  She looked at the screen and started adjusting various things while asking the question “what is beautiful to you?” I felt like some angels started singing overhead.  Whether directly or indirectly that’s the question we as photographers are always asking.  In this scene, in this person/people, at this moment, what is beautiful?  Beauty is of course subject to the beholder so it’s visiual interpretation differs, but it’s good to be reminded of what we’re all looking for.  Although this photo isn't perfect, there is beauty in it.  Thanks Rebekah for helping me see the beauty in this image!

Fairy Tale Wedding Highlights Part 1

Since July of 2009 I've had the honor of getting to shoot with Laura Parker and her team at Fairy Tale Photography.  Here are some of my favorite photos from this past wedding season. First up are Jeff and Randi.  They got married at the lovely Sanford House in Arlington, TX.

I love the expressions on both Randi's and her father's face!

This next shot is one of my all time favorites!!!

This crowd LOVED to dance, and DJ JoKyle Varner of  Full House Sound and Lighting did a fabulous job of keeping the dance floor filled the whole night.

Tina and Bill had a tender story of meeting once and then reuniting years later.  As Tina had inscribed on Bill's ring, you were worth the wait. Their intimate wedding was held at the Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie.

I absolutely fell for these adorable mini cakes!

Erin and Tommy's wedding held at Fairy Tale Manor was filled with the color green and lots of Cajun charm!

Green + Louboutin's = a win!

I love the look on Erin's face.

Lastly, Tiffini a stewardess, and Matt a pilot, also held their fun filled wedding at Fairy Tale Manor.   Matt and Tiffini did a great job of adding personal details to their special day.

This airplane cake was phenomenal!

I'm seeing more and more couples play the newlywed game at their wedding receptions, and I have to say I like it!  It makes for a fun and often funny time!

Check back later this week for Part 2 of the Fairy Tale Wedding Highlights!
